Acase’s Collagio is an US$39.99 iPhone 5 case that doubles as a leather wallet. It works well at both functions — as long as you aren’t juggling too many cards or bills.
The Collagio’s design lets you carry your Apple smartphone, up to three cards and cash at the same time. For some it can eliminate the need for a separate wallet or purse, particularly if you have your iPhone with you at all times. On the other hand if, like me, you have more than three cards (credit cards, rewards cards, business cards, etc.) and a few bills in your current wallet, the Collagio won’t be spacious enough. What’s more, I wish it had a top pocket for cash as traditional wallets do.
As an iPhone 5 case, the Collagio sports a snug and slip-free fit and slightly elevated sides to prevent scratches. It offers accessibility to all controls, buttons and camera lenses. The Collagio looks and feels great. It features all the distinguishing characteristics of designer leather goods, including soft but durable leather, premium stitching and scratch resistant finish.
If a three-card/few-bills limit is no problem for you, the Acase product will work well. If your current wallet is bursting at the seams, however, the Collagio isn’t big enough to replace it.
The Collagio is available at Amazon.com and at www.apluscase.com.tw/ .
