I was raised a country boy, but let me tell y’all, WaterField Designs’ CitySlicker for the iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad will satisfy country folk and city folk alike who prefer a classy, durable case for their Apple tablet.
I had the chance to test drive the US$89 iPad mini City Slicker (the full sized iPad version is 10 bucks more) and it’s one — pardon me — slick case. I love the look and feel of the cowboy-ish leather cover that flaps over the ballistic nylon body of the case. The leather/nylon combo — with some padded lining and impact-resistant plastic thrown in — offers three layers of rugged protection that will save your li’l iPad from most drops and bumps.
The back of the Slicker is home to mighty fine convenient, slim stretch pockets that can hold smaller accessories, such as a Lightning connector and headphones. The pockets are hidden under the leather flap that snaps into place.
The Dual-leather flap comes in distressed, naturally tanned Black, Chocolate, Grizzly, Nubock, or Peruvian leather flavors. Personally, I’d recommend the Peruvian or Chocolate, but, whichever you choose, you’ll find the Waterfield product a good buddy for your iPad mini no matter where you live.
